In de gewelven van Deha’s Opus Magnum Studios in Brussel vormde zich een nieuw verbond. Daar stijgen klanken op als rook uit spleten in de aarde. Deha, de bezetene met duizend gezichten, bezield door entiteiten als Acathexis, Silver Knife, Cult of Erinyes en Wolvennest, bracht MK van Haxenzijrkell en CSQN van Trogne samen tot één bezwerende cirkel. Uit die ontmoeting werd Illusive Key geboren, en hun eerste manifestatie draagt de naam Consume Us, bezield door Amor Fati Productions.
Vier bezweringen, samengeperst tot tweeëndertig minuten van rituele, dissonante black metal. Deha’s bas pulseert als een hart in rotting, zijn toetsen ademen mist en lijkgeur. MK’s gitaarlijnen wentelen in trance, terwijl CSQN’s drums slaan als ketenen tegen steen. Het geluid draagt de ijle gloed van de jaren negentig, vermengd met de chaotische glans van hedendaagse bezetenheid.
“Disseverence” opent als een oproeping: de lucht wordt dik, de dissonantie groeit, de stemmen cirkelen als geesten rond het vuur. “Ghosts” echoot als een ceremoniële slagorde, ritmisch en ijl tegelijk. “Yearning” weeft melancholie en dreiging, terwijl H. (Oerheks, Silver Knife) en CVB (Wolvennest, Aerdryk, Cult of Erinyes) verschijnen als stemmen uit de mist. De titeltrack “Consume Us” sluit de rite af met pulserende riffs en hallucinogene lagen die oplossen in stilte.
De vier teksten vormen één necromantisch traject: van herinnering naar verval, van leegte naar verlichting door ontbinding. Disseverence breekt de band tussen mens en geest. Ghosts laat de ziel ronddolen als relikwie in een verdorde wereld. Yearning ontvouwt de vergeefse hunkering naar betekenis in een kosmos die niet antwoordt. Consume Us verlicht het einde als bezwering van zelfopheffing. De slang ontwaakt, het licht verteert, en wat rest is niets — heilig, brandend, eindeloos.
Consume Us ademt necromantie. Het is black metal die brandt als wierook op grafsteen, die zuigt aan de adem van de luisteraar tot enkel leegte overblijft. Een sleutel tot ontbinding, gevormd in klank, adem en as.

In the vaults of Deha’s Opus Magnum Studios in Brussels, a new covenant took form. Sounds rose like smoke from cracks in the earth. Deha, the possessed figure of a thousand faces, driven by entities such as Acathexis, Silver Knife, Cult of Erinyes and Wolvennest, joined forces with MK of Haxenzijrkell and CSQN of Trogne in a single conjuring circle. From that encounter emerged Illusive Key, and its first manifestation bears the name Consume Us, released through Amor Fati Productions.
Four invocations compressed into thirty-two minutes of ritual, dissonant black metal. Deha’s bass throbs like a heart in decay, his synths exhale mist and sepulchral air. MK’s guitars spiral in trance, while CSQN’s drumming strikes like chains against stone. The sound carries the pale radiance of the nineties, infused with the chaotic brilliance of modern possession.
“Disseverence” unfolds as an evocation: the air thickens, dissonance grows, voices circle like spirits around the fire. “Ghosts” resounds as a ceremonial march, rhythmic and spectral. “Yearning” weaves melancholy and dread, while H. (Oerheks, Silver Knife) and CVB (Wolvennest, Aerdryk, Cult of Erinyes) manifest as voices adrift in the fog. The title track “Consume Us” concludes the rite with pulsating riffs and hallucinatory layers that dissolve into silence.
The four lyrics trace a single necromantic path: from memory into ruin, from emptiness into illumination through dissolution. Disseverence breaks the bond between man and spirit. Ghosts leaves the soul wandering as a relic in a barren world. Yearning reveals the futile longing for meaning in a cosmos without response. Consume Us illuminates the end as an invocation of self-effacement. The serpent awakens, the light devours, and what remains is nothing — sacred, burning, endless.
Consume Us breathes necromancy. This is black metal that burns like incense upon tombstone, that feeds upon the listener’s breath until only the void remains. A key to dissolution, forged in sound, breath, and ash.
