De naald daalt af in de groeven van een nieuw verbond. Necromantic Worship en The Nameless Shrine hebben hun krachten gebundeld op een split 7 inch die de geest van 1992 reanimeert. Destijds opende de split-lp The Black Arts / The Everlasting Sins een portaal naar de Griekse onderwereld. Vandaag voelt deze release als de reïncarnatie van diezelfde duistere energie op Nederlandse bodem.
Necromantic Worship opent de afgrond met Blood Of The Abyss. De bezetting rond Ghûllzaraën en Xarangorth is uitgebreid met drummer Urgaurath. Zijn rituele slagen voegen een seismische kracht toe aan de zware baslijnen die de band typeren. De sfeer roept schimmen op van vroege Necromantia. Hypnotiserende riffs herhalen zich als bezweringen terwijl een sacraal orgel de ruimte vult met wierook en as. Alles beweegt in een slepende cadans naar een climax van chaotische solo’s die de ceremonie gewelddadig beëindigen.
The Nameless Shrine beantwoordt deze aanroep met The Veil Torn By Forbidden Fire. De identiteit van Zharuul en Habitator Dunarum blijft verborgen in de schaduwen van het zuiden. Hoewel de ware gezichten achter dit project een goed bewaard geheim blijven bestaat er een duister vermoeden over hun afkomst uit de veteranenstal van de scene. Hun benadering is rauw en direct. Schurende gitaren vloeien over in een filmisch landschap waar een cello en klokgelui het middernachtelijk uur aankondigen. De drums klinken organisch en versterken de live intensiteit van hun rituele black metal.
WolfKult Religion heeft deze samenwerking vastgelegd op een strikt gelimiteerde oplage van 150 exemplaren. Het resultaat is een compacte brok occulte geschiedenis. Beide acts putten uit dezelfde bron maar varen een eigen koers. Deze split is een absolute noodzaak voor wie de oude tradities koestert.

The needle descends into the grooves of a new covenant. Necromantic Worship and The Nameless Shrine have joined forces on a split 7 inch that reanimates the spirit of 1992. Back then, the split LP The Black Arts / The Everlasting Sins opened a portal to the Greek underworld. Today, this release feels like the reincarnation of that same dark energy on Dutch soil.
Necromantic Worship opens the abyss with Blood Of The Abyss. The line up surrounding Ghûllzaraën and Xarangorth has been expanded with drummer Urgaurath. His ritualistic strikes add a seismic force to the heavy basslines that define the band. The atmosphere summons spectres of early Necromantia and Mortuary Drape. Hypnotic riffs repeat like incantations while a sacred organ fills the air with incense and ash. Everything moves in a dragging cadence toward a climax of chaotic solos that violently conclude the ceremony.
The Nameless Shrine answers this invocation with The Veil Torn By Forbidden Fire. The identities of Zharuul and Habitator Dunarum remain hidden within the shadows of the south. Although the true faces behind this project remain a well guarded secret, a dark suspicion lingers around their origins within the veteran ranks of the scene. Their approach is raw and direct. Abrasive guitars flow into a cinematic landscape where cello and tolling bells announce the midnight hour. The drums sound organic and strengthen the live intensity of their ritual black metal.
WolfKult Religion has preserved this collaboration on a strictly limited edition of 150 copies. The result is a compact piece of occult history. Both acts draw from the same source while following their own path. This split is an absolute necessity for those who still cherish the old traditions.
